Meaning
a shrug in one syllable — let it go, it does not matter
The story
Pyt is the sound of a thing being let go: the bus missed, the milk over the table. Danish schools keep a green pyt-knap on the desk, a button a child can press to mark a small disaster closed. The dictionary lists the button as a word of its own.
