Comparle is a daily word game. This page says what you can expect from the game and what the game expects from you. It is made and run by a private individual in the Netherlands — below, "the person running Comparle". Questions: contact@comparle.app.

The game

Comparle is free to play, with or without an account. There is one word a day, plus practice words. It is a game, not something to depend on: it may be down for a while, words may be corrected or replaced, and parts of it may change or disappear. There is no guaranteed uptime and no support promise.

Accounts

An account is optional. It needs one e-mail address and a display name you choose. You log in with a link or code sent by e-mail; there is no password.

The person running Comparle may block or delete an account for abuse: spam, harassment, trying to break the game or someone else's account, or automated play.

Premium

Premium is a one-off purchase, not a subscription. Nothing renews automatically. Premium belongs to one account. It is not transferable, not shareable and not for resale.

Premium currently unlocks: replaying daily words you missed, all practice words, creating your own pool, and the paid styles for your share card. A replay counts towards your score, not towards your streak. Playing blind stays free, for everyone. Premium is never pay-to-win: it buys depth, not a better score and no advantage over other players.

Parts of premium may change. If something goes away, something equivalent takes its place, or you can ask for a refund (see the Refunds page).

The sale runs through Paddle. Paddle is the seller of the purchase (merchant of record): Paddle takes the payment, handles VAT, sends your invoice, and deals with refunds and chargebacks. Paddle's own terms therefore also apply to the purchase. After that, the person running Comparle grants the premium entitlement to your account.

Pools and names

You can create a pool and invite others. Your pool's name and your display name are visible to the other members. Keep it decent: no offensive, hateful or misleading names, no pretending to be someone else, and no other people's personal details. The person running Comparle may change a name or remove a pool if this is broken.

Review notes and feedback

If you send a review note or other feedback, the person running Comparle may use it to improve Comparle — read it, keep it, reply to it, and build the suggestion — at no cost. You keep ownership of what you wrote. Don't put confidential information in it, and don't put other people's personal details in it.

Changes

The game changes, so these terms will too. If a change actually matters, it will be shown in the game, or e-mailed to you if you have an account. Keep playing and the new version applies. A change never retroactively takes away something you have already bought.

Liability

This is a free word game made by one person. The person running Comparle is not liable for damage arising from using Comparle, for lost game progress or data, or for the game stopping temporarily or for good. If you bought premium, liability is in any case limited to the amount you paid for that purchase.

Your rights as a consumer under the law stand: this limit does not apply to intent or deliberate recklessness, or where the law does not allow liability to be excluded.

Law and complaints

Dutch law applies. As a consumer you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in. Disputes go to the competent Dutch court, unless the law points to another one.

Got a complaint? E-mail contact@comparle.app first — it usually fixes things faster than a procedure. If it is about the payment itself, Paddle is the first address.
