Meaning
light on the night sea, from moonlight to plankton glow — the moonglade
The story
Turkish took the word from Greek and uses it for any light the night sea gives back, from the moon's track to plankton flaring blue around an oar. In 2007 a German magazine's worldwide poll crowned it the most beautiful word in the world. English has a rare old word for the moonlit kind: moonglade.
