Meaning
an old Lapland measure: how far a reindeer goes before it stops to pee
The story
Poro is reindeer and kusema its peeing: the old Lapland unit for how far a reindeer could pull a sled before it had to stop, roughly seven and a half kilometres. It was never exact, which was rather the point. English measured with the league, about an hour's walk.
